Inverter is an instrument which converts DC voltage to AC. In remote area where line power is not reached DC current from solar panel is converted to AC and daily life equipments are operated. Even in urban area of developing countries where electric power transmission is irregular inverters are used to regulate power supply by storing charge on battery.
Working:
- AC is rectified and converted to dc. During power available this DC is used to charge battery
- When power is gone inverter takes DC power from battery which is converted to small AC using suitable oscillator.
- This AC is amplified and fed to transformer to get 220v AC output. The Simple Inverter circuit is given below
